Community Care service available in Paphos

A Community Care service is now available in the PAPHOS area.

Carol Stevens and Jean Allmey have got together to set up this long awaited service of CJ COMMUNITY CARE LTD.

Before moving to Cyprus, Carol,[Care Director] who has an outward friendly personality and treats clients with dignity and respect, worked in the Caring industry for twenty years, specializing with the elderly, learning disabilities and paraplegic, Carol also fostered children with disabilities. She worked for both the private sector and social services, who both respected Carol's valued & professional approach to her work. For many years she also, on a voluntary basis took clients on holidays allover Europe.

Jean [Admin. Director] ran a successful coach and tourist bus company for over 40 years. During that period she was involved in holidays for the elderly -taking them on many trips around and about Europe. She is a Lion and has for many years been busy raising money for local charities, and has continued here in Cyprus joining the Paphos Adonis Lions Club [English speaking].

Like Carol, Jean feels there is a great need here in Cyprus to look after all the ex pats, who in their twilight years, need a little bit of help and support. They both feel that CJ COMMUNITY CARE L TD will provide this.

CJ specialize in Alzheimer's and Dementia cases. Wheelchair bound and the disabled. We work alongside the clients Doctor giving reports to him, as necessary to provide the correct treatment, so that we can give 100% service. CJ already have the backing of many local Doctors here who are happy to recommend us to their patients.

CJ COMMUNITY CARE L TD will take care of all personal hygiene requirements. A bathing service is also available. Trips to local hospitals or Doctor where necessary. Our carers operate waking nights, sleepovers and 24 hour care and a respite service. Carol and Jean have based the running of their business on the UK Health and Care practice guidelines.

As from July, CJ COMMUNITY CARE L TD will be operating a DAY CARE CENTRE in Stephanie, Tala -on Thursdays ­starting date to be confirmed. Open from 10.30 am to 3.30pm.

You can bring your loved ones along and leave them while you have a break for a few hours. If you live on your own, come along and join in the fun. Qualified carers will be on hand to assist peoples every need. Also a male carer will be on duty. Cost to include a light lunch and mid morning /afternoon drink ­half days will include a drink and biscuits. A full programme of entertainment, exercises, sing-a-longs, board and card games, books and magazines will be available at all times. Carol and Jean feel that the Day Care Centre will give a lot of people chance to get some stimulation and fun back into their, what might seem lonely lives.

We hope in the future to run at least three Day Care Centres a week in different areas of Paphos.

Carol and Jean are both looking forward to meeting many new people in their exciting venture.
